This is how you can inflate the tires of a mobility scooter

The correct tire pressure is important for safety, even with a mobility scooter. A common mistake is not inflating the tires often enough. This can lead to wear and tear on the tire and in serious cases it can even cause damage to the engine. It is a good idea to regularly check the tire pressure and inflate the tires of your mobility scooter. That also drives much more pleasantly!

Follow these steps to inflate a mobility scooter tire

  1. The tire of a mobility scooter usually has an AV valve that is also found on car tires. You therefore need an air pump that is suitable for car tires, such as the Donrox electric car tire inflators .
  2. Remove the valve cap from the valve and connect the pump.
  3. Inflate the mobility scooter tire to the desired pressure.
  4. Then screw the valve cap back on the valve.

Hand pump for the mobility scooter

Purchase a good electric pump with a voltage meter and check the voltage regularly, for example once a week. Tires always lose some pressure naturally. It is better not to inflate the tires of a mobility scooter at a gas station. Here the tire pressure is easily too high, which can result in damage to the tires. A hand pump or mini compressor is better, it is easy to adjust and it is a compact device.

Inflate your mobility scooter tire with a Donrox compressor

Inflating with a Donrox portable compressor is effortless and stops automatically at the desired pressure. The compressor is compact enough to always have with you. This versatile mini compressor also works as a power bank, so you can always charge your phone. Thanks to the built-in light, you can clearly see what you are doing, even in bad weather or late at night.

The correct tire pressure for a mobility scooter

The correct tire pressure is usually stated on the tire of your mobility scooter. If possible, set the tire pump at home, so that you always know exactly how much air needs to be in the tires of your mobility scooter. Not sure what the correct tire pressure is for your mobility scooter? Then maintain 2.5 bar. In any case, never inflate the tires to a pressure below 2 bar. Tires that are too soft cause a longer braking distance. Too low tire pressure also makes the tire susceptible to holes. Moreover, your mobility scooter will then feel a lot more unstable.

Get out and about safely in autumn and winter

Rain and leaves can make the road surface slippery in the fall. In winter, frost causes the same problem. From the autumn onwards it is therefore better not to inflate your tires too hard, then you will have more grip on the road. This applies to both the mobility scooter and your car. Too high a tire pressure makes the tire narrow where it touches the road surface. A tire that is too hard is also not pleasant to drive. You then lose too much cushioning, so you feel every stone on your path.

The advantage of your own tire pressure table

With the electric tire pump from Donrox you can choose from five pre-programmed and customizable settings. This allows you to create an ideal tire pressure table yourself, for your mobility scooter but also for your car, for example. This way you only have to look it up once and you can be sure that you have exactly the right voltage.
