Inflate the wheelbarrow tire
A wheelbarrow is intended to make heavy work easier. This only works if the pneumatic tire has the correct pressure. After all, it requires extra energy to push a wheelbarrow with a half-empty tire. In this blog we explain how to inflate the inner tube of a wheelbarrow wheel.
Step-by-step plan for inflating a wheelbarrow tire
-
Check what type of valve is on the tire.
Most wheelbarrow tires have a car valve, also called Schrader valve named.
-
Check the tire for the prescribed tire pressure.
This is indicated in psi or bar.
-
Loosen the valve cap and connect the pump.
If necessary, fit an adapter to the valve.
- Inflate the tire to the correct pressure.
- Disconnect the pump and screw the cap back on the valve.
Correct tire pressure for wheelbarrow tyre
The recommended air pressure is stated on the side of the tire. This is usually between 2 and 2.5 bar. On some tires the unit used is psi, or pound force per square inch. You can use the following rule: 29 psi corresponds approximately to 2 bar, 36 psi to 2.5 bar.
Inflating a wheelbarrow tire with an electric pump
Do you have the feeling that your wheelbarrow drives or maneuvers more smoothly than normal? With an air compressor you can quickly check whether the tire pressure is sufficient. If not, set the correct air pressure on your electric pump. You can top up the air pressure to the recommended value at the touch of a button.
Inflating the tires of other vehicles
On our blog page you will find more information about inflating special tires, such as wheelchair tires. We also explain why it is important to keep the tires of a mobility scooter in good condition.
