How do you inflate a scooter tire and what else should you pay attention to?

Do you want to inflate your scooter tire? Fortunately, that is not difficult and you can in principle inflate the tire in the same way as a bicycle tire. Take the following steps and your scooter tire will have the correct tire pressure in no time

1. Find the valve between the rims and remove the valve cap.

2. Connect the pump to the valve. To inflate a scooter tire it is best to use a foot pump or electric bicycle pump to use.

3. Inflate the tire until the correct pressure is reached.

4. Remove the pump from the valve and screw the valve cap back on.

Inflating the tire of your scooter requires some attention. How often should you check the tire pressure, how much should you inflate the tire and what exactly should you pay attention to? And what is the correct tire pressure for a scooter?

It is a good idea to regularly check the tire pressure and inflate the tires of your scooter. Properly inflated tires use much less fuel: good for the environment, but also for your wallet. In addition, heavily inflated tires wear out less quickly, meaning less tire grinding ends up in the environment. This in turn saves on the purchase of new tires.

Where is the tire pressure for your scooter?

On average, the average tire pressure for a scooter can be 2 to 2.1 bar for the front tire. 2.4 to 2.5 bar is recommended for the rear tire. Always check the service booklet to see what the exact prescribed voltage is for your scooter, which differs per type. Also think about taxes. If you often take someone on the back, it is better to inflate the tire a little harder. Tubeless tires are an exception. These maintain their stability even at less than 1 bar.

How often should you check your tire pressure?

Purchase a good scooter pump with a voltage meter and check the voltage regularly. Tires always lose some pressure naturally. Therefore, check the tire pressure of your scooter at least once every two months. It is even better to check the tire pressure every week.

How do you make your own tire pressure table?

With the electric tire pump from Donrox you can choose from five pre-programmed and customizable settings. This allows you to create an ideal tire pressure table yourself, for your scooter but also for your car and bicycles. This way you only have to look it up once and you can be sure that you have exactly the right voltage.

Inflating a scooter tire with a compressor

Inflate the tires of your scooter with a compressor? This is possible with the electric tire pump from Donrox, a handy mini compressor. Inflating is effortless and stops automatically at the desired pressure. The compressor is compact enough to always have with you. This versatile mini compressor also works as a power bank, so you can always charge your phone. Thanks to the built-in light, you can clearly see what you are doing, even in bad weather or late at night.

    Safe driving on the scooter

The correct tire pressure is also important for safety. Tires that are too soft cause a longer braking distance. Too low tire pressure also makes the tire susceptible to holes. Also be careful not to overinflate the tire. The harder you drive the tire, the narrower the area that touches the road surface. This causes you to lose control. But a tire that is too hard is also not pleasant to drive, you lose too much damping and you feel every pebble on the road.
